The World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) was founded by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI), and hosted in Singapore on August 10-12 1991. Its objective is to congregate Chinese businessmen and entrepreneurs from around the world, on a meaningful and unique platform for business exchange and networking. This mega event has since become an important biennial international convention and has since been consistently and successfully held in several major cities all over the world.
The prestige and influence accorded to the WCEC has grown with each subsequent convention. While the convention is non-political in nature, its importance is acknowledged by the political leaders in each country or region where it has been held, and they have all provided keynote speeches as guests of honour.
When SCCCI hosts the WCEC again in 2011, 20 years after its establishment, we will be welcoming some 4,000 Chinese entrepreneurs and business leaders from around the world. We have adopted the theme: “New World Order, New Chinese Enterprise, New Impetus”.
